"WALL-E'
Rating: G.
What it's about: A lonely robot trash compactor, left behind to clean up the mess humans have made of Earth, falls in love with a probe robot that comes to see if signs of life have returned to the planet.
The Kid Attractor Factor: Disney. Pixar. Robots.
Good lessons/bad lessons: We should clean up our own messes.
Violence: Robot-on-robot slapstick.
Language: There isn't any, or much, and certainly no profanity.
Sex: Of course not.
Drugs: Ditto.
Parents' advisory: Pixar returns to its kids-first mission with this cartoon, which, because it is so visual and not verbal, should be your 2- to 3-year-old's first trip to the movies.
"Wanted'
Rating: R for strong bloody violence throughout, pervasive language and some sexuality.
What it's about: A clan of assassins initiates a new member to its ranks, but he questions their mission.
The Kid Attractor Factor: It's like a first-person shooter video game, with a body count to match. Oh, and Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy are the stars.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Just because you're ”born“ to do something doesn't mean you have to do that something.
Violence: Guns, knives, fists and bombs lacerate bodies and make heads explode.
Language: Lots of profanity.
Sex: Some.
Drugs: ”Energy“ drinks.
Parents' advisory: An action film plainly aimed at teens, which is entirely too violent for and would send the worst message to 15-and-unders.
